thing's I want to write about that I have no intention of truly putting in a journal or submitting to my professors but I want a few people to be able to read them at least

feelings i have about palestinian outcries
It's been very weird being a Palestinian in America now for a year now. Something that I've been very aware of but I haven't noticed it in years. It feels weird, like I've finally had a mirror pulled up to my face and now I'm left to stay confused because in my world, I am nothing more but my identity which is worse than I anticipated. It's been a year of inner conflict, it's been a year of arguing. I recently went overseas as well and saw this world in my view point and in reality have never felt more passionate but also, in what world am I more similar to my people now than I was in years. I'm not a refugee, I'm part of the diaspora. I have an emotion within my culture that is sticking there as a holder of both a Jordanian and an American passport but I'm not like the people in Palestine and I'm not like the people in Jordan. Hell, I'm not even like the Palestinians in the northern part of America. We have a lot of parts of our community that ties within one another but my need for diversity in my inner circles hasn't changed nor will ever change. I create my world in which I communicate with the people I care for and Palestinians are in this but people forget that though Palestinians are oppressed we are a different kind of oppressed group. We have feelings in which we understand each other's oppressions, but we don't really. I cannot compare the issue of the genocide in Palestine to the issue of racism in America. These are two incredible different scenarios. The racism and discrimination that happens in Palestine is due to the dislike of a non Eurocentric population in Palestine while as the racism and discrimination in America is caused by true and utmost hate to Black Americans. The hate of Black people solely because they are Black is truly rooted within every culture. This is not comparable, this is not something that is remotely the same. We are seeing the beginning of an oppression that incredibly unique due to a context of a hatred of noncompliance as well as a hate for a race rooted in this "noncompliance". I had this conversation with a really great classmate of mine who I personally think is incredibly bright and thinks the same way I do who mentioned that with Brown and Black people, hatred is so rooted within our communities, hatred is truly in the eye of how we see our feelings of different people that we learn we need to begin to dislike because if there is no sense of white supremacy in this world, there is no sense of the world. I feel like I've been feeling this way since I saw the nannies in Jordan. The mammy's in the Arab world that we refuse to acknowledge because if we can't verify a world where people have to suffer in our economy then we cannot live in the lush, beautiful, freeing life that we have. How could a population that understands being run out and losing everything validate this? How can our struggles be so big that we cannot see the struggles of others and realize that we also feel a sort of sadness with that? We feel the frustration that they feel but it's not the complete same. We should continue to feel sympathy and listen. You are not entitled to someone's personal beliefs nor entitled to have everyone believe everything you do. There are ways to be an activist and also stand among other people while not belittling their feelings on their own oppressions.
